 What are 4-H Teen Programs?

The 4-H Teen program provides a variety of local, state, national and international opportunities including teen leadership, citizenship, service, and workforce preparations. College scholarships and awards are also available through the program.

Ohio 4-H offers 88 different 4-H projects designed especially for teens, as well as a Self-Determined 4-H project for teens who wish to pursue other areas of interest. See more information on the Ohio 4-H Teen Programs Web pages at http://www.ohio4h.org

What 4-H Teen Programs does Scioto County offer?

4-H Camp Counselor- All overnight camps are held at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp near Jackson, OH.  An Ohio 4-H Achievement Record does not have to be completed in order to be eligible for this award/opportunity.  A separate, specialized application form is required to be filled out for this award/opportunity and you should indicate your interest on Page 1 of this form.  A 4-H Camp Counselor application form can then be given to you by your County Educator.

County Junior Fair Board- Selected on a yearly basis.  Members must be 15 years or older as of January 1st of the current year, and may serve up to three one-year terms.  Selections are based on past leadership experiences and good leadership qualities.

County 4-H Scholarship- (H.S. Seniors) -  Request county 4-H scholarship eligibility requirements and Scholarship Application forms from your County Educator.  County scholarship applications are required to be turned in with a copy of your “Ohio 4-H Achievement Record.”  Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000.

Awareness Team- Members promote 4-H opportunities (camp, projects, awards, etc.) and receive public speaking experience (many selected).

Carteens- (Cautious and Responsible Teens).  Teens serve as planners, facilitators, peer counselors, and teachers for the 4-H CARTEENS session. They also gain leadership, public speaking, and organizational skills.  Visit the Carteens Web site.

Teen Leadership Club- Club focusing on international awareness, career exploration, current issues and socialization.
