The Ohio State University, College of Public Health is currently looking to hire a Research Associate II. This federally funded project tests an innovative strategy for improving the retention of people who use drugs in research in hopes of informing better strategies to improve their retention in care and future clinical trials of new treatments. This project builds on another federally-fund project focused on the epidemics of opioid injecting, overdose, and hepatitis C, and to imminent HIV outbreaks, in 3 rural Appalachian Ohio counties at the epicenter of these intertwined national crises. The newly funded project involves a collaboration between sites in Oregon, Ohio, and Kentucky. The grant, awarded by the National Institutes of Health, provides 5 years of funding and is led by Dr. Kathy Lancaster (OSU), Dr. April Young (UK) and Dr. Todd Korthuis (Oregon).
