Due to unexpected circumstances, beef tagging scheduled for this weekend, June 20th, has been cancelled. This year we will allow all beef breeding, feeder calves, dam and offspring, to be tagged at home. ID Forms and tags are available at the Extension office or from your club Advisor. All ID forms must be turned in to the Extension office no later than July 1st and must be accompanied by a picture of the animal with the tag in its ear. While the 4-H Club Enrollment Deadline has passed. Clubs can still make additions and changes until May 1st. After this deadline, no additional changes can be made.

All Advisors, Volunteers, Junior Fair Board Members, and Teen Leaders are invited to attend the 2015 Scioto County 4-H Volunteer Leadership Conference at the SOMC Friends Center. This years conferece will be held on April 7th and begin with dinner at 5:30 pm. Advisors and Volunteers will receive the MANDATORY training on Recognizing Signs of Child Abuse during the conference. The conference will conclude with a silent auction benefiting the Scioto County 4-H Committee.

The 2015 Ohio 4-H Conference will take place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Saturday, March 14, 2015. This event is designed to bring together 4-H volunteers and teens from across the State of Ohio. The objective of this event is to learn together and from each other in order to improve our abilities to deliver the Ohio 4-H Program to its members. We truly believe that these educational selections offer something for everyone, and have the ability to satisfy every taste and need.

Food Preservation has made a comeback! Learn how to safely and easily can and freeze your fruits, vegetables, soups, stews, and meats at home for year-round goodness. Pressure canner gauge testing will also be offered on-site following the programs. (There is a $5.00 charge for this service)

You may complete the Annual Financial Summary online. The deadline for completion is February 28th.

Celebrating the significant accomplishments and deep impact that OSU Extension has had on communities and in the lives of Ohioans provides a great springboard for the future. A significant component of Ohio’s celebration in 2014 will be a year-long process focused on our future. The primary work this year will center on futuring – asking questions about and envisioning the long-term future of OSU Extension as well as the role the organization should play in shaping and positively impacting Ohio and Ohio residents.

The Molly Caren Agricultural Center near London, Ohio is home to the Farm Science Review (FSR), which attracts more than 140,000 visitors from all over the United States and Canada, who come for three days to peruse 4,000 product lines from 600 commercial exhibitors and learn the latest in agricultural production. The educational programs feature Ohio State and Purdue specialists and are second to none in the agricultural exhibition world.
